The day started with a grand breakfast of Dill & Cheddar’s scones at The Parsonage Cafe in Vic. Year after year, the moist, fluffy, green and golden goodness of those doughy delectables never cease to please.
Three of the most lovely ladies in the galaxy, Paula, Kate and Jess were my dates for the meal and there were so many laughs and so much debauchery that we had pretty much cleared the place out by the time we were done.
I’m continually blown away by the work so many of my friends are engaged in. Paula, who’s focus is sustainable food systems, is working on a number of projects regarding local/sustainable food production and certification. Jess, beyond caring for her family farm, is also engaged in food security issues. And Kate recently gave up her job working with indigenous communities on social issues to take a project management with Apple in the UK…
It’s inspiring to be around such successful, warm, down to earth peeps who are living the dream day in day out. It’s definitely a motivator for me, and a reminder to keep an eye on the prize of continually working on socially relevant projects…
Luckly, Down2Earth fits that bill.
Afterward, I moved to a nearby coffee shop and busted out the lap top for a serious D2E writing session…
… the goal was to create an overarching structure for the show — something that will contain the season, and give us an arc to work with from Ep1 – Ep13. In the afternoon a bunch of the crew dove into a story brainstorm session, and I think we’re now working from a really solid base.
But, production begins in less than a week and there’s still so much to be done!
